Description

The Wyndfinder is a party-based CRPG inspired by the classics. Create your Wyndfinder, choose from nine unique characters to join your party, and answer the question: If the heroes of old become the villains, would you pull their statues down?

Gameplay Description

The Wyndfinder is a narrative-focused CRPG, with a turn-based tactical combat system. The fantasy RPG implementation is “5E Compatible”, with custom subclasses, spells, and items to bring the new world to life.

In this new fantasy setting, the realms of the world were separated in the cataclysmic outcome of a celestial war that occurred centuries prior. The world was saved by the discovery of the Wynding Way, a world-between-worlds that allowed the forces of good to travel across these separated realms in an instant. Now, the Way is controlled by a group known as the Wyndfinders, and as the player you take control of the first new Wyndfinder in a generation.

Key Features

The player will adventure through a full-scale narrative campaign, centered on their quest to discover the true nature of the Wynding Way. Along their journey, they will meet up to nine characters that be added to their party. Each of these characters has a full narrative reason of their own for existing in this world, and the player can choose who and to what extent to offer their aid.

As a Wyndfinder, the player controls a powerful artifact known as a Wyndstone. By placing gems (known as Prismata) into the Stone, the player can add up to four custom abilities to their character. With powers ranging across all classes and spellbooks, including several new abilities found only in these gems, this mechanic allows for true character customization.

Studio Description

Cat Lord Games is the project of Scott Anderson, a solo developer who has been building The Wyndfinder since 2022. In 2026, Witch Bolt joined the project as a Composer to create an original soundtrack, and MLC Studio joined to bring the characters to life with portraits.
